Our Buddhist Society organizes
the annual ‘Seela programmes’ as well as the ‘Alms Giving’
to make the girls aware of the importance of Buddhist living. Sermons on full-moon
poya days and special programmes for Wesak and Poson are also arranged by
this society. On behalf of the school birthday, a”Pindapatha”
programme is organized annually. It is a significant experience in the studies
of the primary students. On account of the Wesak poya day, a free distribution
of dry rations and gifting of dry food to the orphanage at Mahara is done.
The school Buddhist society, while lending a hand in public social works,
is an active society which works hard to uplift the spiritual development
of the students all the year round.
