The
main objective of Chess association initiated in1997 is to improve the knowledge
of students. Due to the devotion of the teachers and the students, the Association
have achieved many victories in the zonal and provincial levels as well as
at international levels. Four students of our school were able to obtain colours
presented by the Sri Lankan School Chess Organization in 2005.Among the most
outstanding victories, Mokshi Charunika Wijewardena of our school got qualified
for the designation W.M.C.in the Chess Olympiad held in Italy. Gayathri Kamalabhashini
Herath brought us honour through her excellent performance in the World Youth
Chess Union, held in Singapore and Uthpala Manawi Garusinghe showed excellent
results in Chess Olympiad 2005, held in France.
